The week 14 matches are getting dropped on us quickly leaving very little time to analyze the weekend’s results and fully prepare for these early fixtures. My gameweek 14 Premier League fantasy tips feature a look at some changes to make to prepare for the midweek matches as well as looking ahead to the next gameweeks.
Gameweek 13 Review
Starting out, let’s take a look back at the gameweek 13. For my own official team I came away with a solid 52 points. This tally kept me above the week’s average of 43 points, but well short of the 101 point high. I managed to get a goal from Sterling and assists from Sterling and Richarlison.
I had planned to move out Tom Carroll for Ruben Loftus Cheek, but needed to clear out several other players with both Jones and Francis out. Instead I moved Jesus out for Callum Wilson and brought in Azpilicueta for Jones. I debated taking a -4 hit to get Loftus Cheek, but in the end decided against it. I wish I had done so considering the goal that he got that would have made up the difference.
Still, the plan was to make room to gradually shift my team in preparation for the Christmas fixtures. I was able to do this as well as get a decent gameweek score and moved up the ranks about 400k places into the top one million.
Gameweek 14 Premier League Fantasy Tips
I’m planning to continue to make changes to push towards having a solid team full of mostly starters by Christmas. I plan to move on from Lukaku soon; if not in gameweek 14, most likely in gameweek 15. His goal scoring has dried up, along with the rest of this United squad lately, and I’m at the point that I can’t rely on having him fail as my captain again and again. I might make room to get Kane to replace him. At least then I can root for United knowing that my fantasy team isn’t riding on specific players scoring or getting upset if they don’t.
I am still considering a move for Loftus Cheek and getting Carroll out, but that might have to wait. At this point I have enough in the bank to drop Silva and bring in either Hazard or Salah. I’m leaning towards Hazard due to his fixtures, but the way that Salah keeps scoring makes me think I should take a hit and make room for both of them.
Daily Fantasy Tips
For the midweek fixtures a stack of Chelsea players is a great way to go. Hazard has been really good lately and I would recommend Morata along with him if possible.
Liverpool players are a solid choice as well, at least in attack. Salah has continued to score and Coutinho is always a solid fantasy asset. The same could be said for Man City players, but it’s important to pay attention to who is starting, particularly between Jesus and Aguero.
Defensive assets can definitely be found in the Bournemouth v Burnley match which looks headed to a 0-0 draw. Arsenal is another great place to look for defensive strength. They have now kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 home games. The one match they didn’t keep a home sheet was the 2-1 win over Swansea City. Believe it or not, they finally look like a (mostly) solid defensive unit.
That wraps up the gameweek 14 Premier League fantasy tips. I’m hoping that the green arrows continue for my FPL team. I’m also hoping that my draft fantasy teams start picking up some wins.
